Mariam Gviniashvili is a Georgian composer and visual artist living in Oslo. She works at the intersection of electroacoustic music, 3D sound, and instrumental composition, exploring the emotional and spatial dimensions of sound and how it can resonate through visual media. Mariam began her artistic journey as a singer and pianist before studying composition in Tbilisi, Budapest, and Oslo. This diverse background informs projects such as Trails and Deconstruction, both awarded by Prix Ars Electronica (Austria), and Ruins, winner of the 40.4 Festival for Ambisonic Works (USA) and the Work of the Year award (NKF). She has been commissioned by institutions including ZKM | Center for Art and Media, INA GRM, Notam, Henie Onstad Art Centre, MA/IN Festival, and the Hong Kong Visualisation Research Centre.
